New Album News & Mia Says Hi! - 21 Nov 2007
Hello all!

Apologies for not posting in absolutely bl**dy ages, but I've been busy with a new job, and there's not been a lot of news about recently.

I've been in contact with Mia (who we all have to congratulate on a brilliant debut album release! go and buy it if you haven't already!) who is just about to take a well deserved 3 month break back home in New Zealand, and she's had this to say:

"[We] have been touring in The Netherlands a lot which has been lots of
fun.
I was there in October for 2 weeks promoting the new album... and it was
relentless but great fun. We had loads of gigs and radio promo with a few
big TV shows, so it was very successful!

I'm hoping to do a new tour in The Netherlands in March/ April next year
and may even take in Germany and Belgium while I'm at it... "

She's also been kind enough to confirm what Lucie's been upto recently (as we've not heard from her in quite a while):

"Lucie has just been in Nashville for a month and is now working on her 3rd
album so I think she is feeling very energised and excited about that."

So, yay! Now we all know what's going on the world of the Silvas..es..

Personally, I can't wait - a new tour from Mia, a new album from Lucie... seems like next year is gonna be a big one! Hopefully Lucie will be in touch soon, and will be able to confirm more of what is happening!

Check back for the *new site* soon!

Lucie's Interview! Read away... - 18 Feb 2007
Hello guys!

So, Mia & Lucie have just taken a little time out to get in contact, and say hello to everyone on LS.net and Lucie has also sent back her interview for all and sundry to enjoy:

Intro:
Hey Andy, it's Lucie, here are my answers for LS.net! Sorry it's taken so long! The site is looking wicked... you're star! Thanks a lot!

What's it like being in a band with a member of your own family? Does it ever cause tension?

Lucie: Sometimes, but only ever over minute, little, silly things that sisters always fight about! But, overall, I have to say, it's a very fortunate poisition to be in! We have such a good laugh, and there's a great deal of understanding and support from having Mia with me!

What are the best and worst things about your job?

Lucie: The best things are: touring, hearing audiences sing your songs, travelling around the world, meeting new people all the time - the upsides to being in music are endless!
Also, of course, with big highs can come big lows. But I'm learning to deal with the different things that come along. The worst part is being away from the people I love a lot. But, knowing I have them there gets me through any bad times I may feel.
If I ever have any sinicism or doubt about the business, it's so nice to see how much people will put themselves out to encourage or support you!

Do you listen to your own music? If you do, do you have any favourites out of the songs you've written?

Lucie: I hadn't listened to my new album for a while until the other day; because I know I will keep picking out bits that I want to change!
Sometimes my favourite songs change, but at the moment, my favourite song is definately Place to Hide.

Apart from your own material, which song do you wish you had written and why?

Lucie: I wish I had written "You Got a Friend" [by Carole King]... It's such a beautiful and simple song, which says exactly what you want to say. I was inspired to write Place to Hide because of songs like this!

Which is harder to write - the music or the lyrics?

Lucie: It depends on how you're feeling at the time. Sometimes music just flows out easily when I'm sitting at the piano, and it can inspire natural melodies and lyrics. Other times you have so much to say in your head and know exactly how to say it, but putting music to it can then be a challenge.

Whats your favourite song to play live?

Lucie: Twisting The Chain, without a doubt! It give me such energy on stage; the band really goes for it, and it feels great to see the audience respond the way they do!

Whats the most embarrassing thing thats happened to you on tour?

Lucie: On the last European tour, I was so tired one morning when we got off the tour bus; we got into the venue and everyone was waiting to jump in the shower.
I finally jumped in and was standing under the water with my eyes closed - loooking and feeling like I had a bad hangover! Laura [Laura Wilson, Lucie's backing singer] walked in and suddenly started to wet herself laughing, shouting at the top of her voice, so that everybody down the hall could hear "Lucie you muppet! You've still got your pants on!".
I was in such a daze, I forgot you had to be naked to have a shower! Thank God it was only Laura!

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed that? Personally - I was laughing my ass off to that last one... Anyhow, I'll be posting again shortly chickens - everyone keep your eyes peeled for a competition coming soon!

Enjoy the rest of your weekends!
